Dr Nanra graduated from Newcastle University in 1988 and subsequently completed a 3 year residency at Royal North Shore Hospital. In 1992 Dr Nanra worked at Camperdown Children’s Hospital (now known as Westmead Children’s Hospital) and completed a Diploma in Child Health through Sydney University.

Dr Nanra has worked in General Practice since 1993, initially working in Kairong and for the last 20 years, in the upper North Shore. She is experienced in all aspects of general practice and in particular has wide experience in the management of mental health, women’s health, paediatrics and complex chronic health management.

Over the years, she has learnt that good listening, collaboration, proactivity and a hollistic approach are the hallmarks of successful medical care. In her downtime, Dr Nanra enjoys walking, cooking, DIY projects and spending time with her family.

Dr Sharmila Nanra is an independent contracted GP who operates their own medical business within the Madison Medical Practice St Ives.
