The Madison Medical Practice St Ives welcomes Dr Chitra Das an experienced Medical Practitioner (GP) who graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and received her fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2017.
Chitra’s special interests include Paediatrics and Skin Cancers. She has attained a Diploma in Paediatrics and Adolescent health from Sydney Westmead hospital, and obtained Advanced surgical training in Skin Cancer Surgery from Health Cert under Bond University Queensland.
Apart from advanced training in Skin Cancer diagnosis and treatment, and Paediatrics, Chitra has interests in Women’s Health, and Geriatric Management of chronic disease. Chitra performs minor operations such as Ingrown toe nail surgery, Suturing, removal of foreign bodies, Implanon and Mirena contraceptive insertion.
Chitra is excited about joining the Madison Medical Team as she believes in continuity of patient care, and provides preventive care with education to her patients, an ethos we both share.

Gagan is a female General Practitioner who graduated from the Government Medical College in Amritsar, India in 1992. After migrating to Australia in 1996 she continued her studies and trained at Prince of Wales Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital and Rozelle Hospitals for many years to expose herself to many areas of patient care to enhance her medical experience. Gagan commenced her General Practice Specialty training at the University of Western Sydney as a part of the “Wentwest” program in 2005. After completing her rural term in Oberon she joined the team at The Madison Medical Practice in 2006 and has been a devoted to the St Ives community ever since. Gagan’s empathetic and extensive experience has seen patients come from all over Sydney, a testament of her commitment to practice holistic medicine. Gagan has a special interest in Women’s and Children’s health, as well as Family Health, Geriatrics and Mental Health. Gagan is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi. Her aim as a General Practitioner is to practice medicine where she can provide quality care to all her patients and be available for them when in need.
Dr L Channo has been a Doctor for over 17 years. She worked as in intern at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and trained for 5 years at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as a Senior Resident Medical Officer in areas of Cardiology, Haematology, General Medicine and Paediatrics while also conducting research for the Woolcock Institute in Respiratory Medicine in areas of allergy and asthma.
She joined General Practice training through the rural pathway in Orange where she took special skills training in Paediatrics at Orange Base Hospital which she thoroughly enjoyed. She completed her General Practice training in 2010 and obtained her fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
She relocated to Sydney with her family in 2012 where she has been practicing in the North Shore area since.
She also holds a certificate of sexual health and family planning.
Dr. Channo is very caring and thorough in her approach and has a special interest in Paediatrics, Women’s health, Mental health, General Medicine and Preventative Health.

The Madison Medical Practice St Ives is delighted that Kalppana is consulting and caring for the St Ives Community. Kalppana received her MBBS from the University of Queensland in 2010 after completing a Bachelor of Medical Science from the University of Sydney. She went on to complete further hospital training across NSW including Westmead Hospital and Coffs Harbour Hospital before entering into General Practice.
Kalppana attained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General practitioners in 2016. She has completed a Diploma in Child Health through Westmead Children’s Hospital.
She enjoys the wide range of challenges a day in General Practice brings and enjoys treating patients of all ages and genders. She has a special interest in Women’s health and paediatrics.

We are delighted to announce that Dr Kawisha Arander will be returning to The Madison Medical Practice St Ives, now as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College or General Practitioners. Kawisha has finished her training and is keen to continue where she left off a year ago with her St Ives patients. Kawisha graduated from her Medical Degree at UNSW in 2016 with distinction and completed her Internship and Residency at Nepean Hospital. She is passionate about preventative health care and strives in providing quality holistic care to her patients and their families. Apart from completing her GP training she has also completed a Master of Public Health at UNSW. Kawisha has a special interest in Paediatrics, and is developing these skills through the Sydney Child Health Program.

The Madison Medical Practice welcomes Dr Sanjev Krishnamohan to the St Ives team. Dr Sanjev completed his Medical Degree at University of Sydney and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 2012. The Madison Medical Practice St Ives welcomes Dr Farah Abadi to our busy Practice as an Extended Skills GP Registrar. Farah is in her final placement of her GP program before becoming a Fellow of the College. She graduated in 2017 with MD and BMedSt from Queensland, and completed her internship and residency in Gosford and Wyong Hospital. She is passionate about delivering preventative and wholistic healthcare to her patients. She enjoys all aspects of medical practice but her special interests are in Preventive Health, Women’s health, Pediatrics and Chronic Disease management. The Madison Medical Practice St Ives welcomes Dr Nathalie “Nat” Vo our GP Registrar to our team. Nat graduated from the University of Western Sydney, which included a year of training in Lismore as a medical student. She then completed her internship, residency and senior residency at Concord Hospital, Canterbury Hospital, and Broken Hill Hospital. During her time as a GP Registrar so far, Nat has trained in Northmead, Riverstone, the lower Blue Mountains, Richmond, Penrith and Epping.
Nat has a wide range of clinical interests, and especially enjoys caring for the needs of children or adolescents, older people, those with chronic health conditions, and those with mental health concerns. She is passionate in providing preventative health advice and treating all her patients in a holistic manner. At the core of Nat’s approach to clinical medicine, she seeks to abide by Hippocrates’ advice: “To cure sometimes, to relieve often, and to comfort always.”
When Nat is not at work, she is just as keen about trying new things and participating in out of the ordinary experiences, as she is about kicking back and watching the world drift by with a good cuppa tea.

Edward Ryan is a General Practitioner at The Madison Medical Practice Hornsby & St Ives and is our Locum GP who helps out our team particularly in flu season and when our Senior GP’s are on leave. Mark Haber is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon focused on advanced shoulder arthroscopy and open techniques.
He is one of the most awarded arthroscopic shoulder specialists in Australia. Leesa is a Registered Psychologist, who trained at the University of New South Wales and Sydney University. She has extensive knowledge and experience in working with acute and chronic clinical Mental Health presentations, such as schizophrenia and bipolar, as well as with gambling addictions, anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting concerns and has experience in working with children, adolescents, adults as well as older persons. Leesa is a Psychology Supervisor and mentors and teaches Psychology Interns. She works collaboratively, using a variety of therapy styles including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Solution Focussed therapy, Motivational Interviewing and strengths based therapy. Leesa’s approach to treatment is that is should be a collaboration, with the aim to assist the client to identify and build on their strengths to help them to live the fulfilling and value filled life they deserve.

Gauri is an Accredited Practising Dietitian specialising in South Asian Diets. She grew up in the country side on fresh vegetarian food and loved growing vegetables from a young age. She believes that healthy eating is possible in every culture and cuisine. Gauri is passionate about cooking from fresh ingredients and trialling various cuisines. She is a mother of a toddler and understands the challenges of cooking for a family with varying nutritional needs and tastes. Gauri has been working as a dietitian for 5 years and in private practice for 2 years. She enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team who are committed to holistic and preventative health. Gauri’s favourite thing about being a private dietitian is getting to know and help her patients from diverse backgrounds to love food and enjoy good health. Isabella is a Registered Podiatrist with the Australian Podiatry Association having graduated from Western Sydney University with a Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Podiatric Medicine. She has experience within Australia in both public and private sectors, has complete training with podiatric surgeons and overseas in Galway, Ireland.
Having grown up on the North Shore, she is passionate about servicing her community and playing an active role in improving the quality of life of others. Her specialty is interacting with ‘at risk’ populations such as elderly and diabetic patients. Isabella is particularly interested in diabetic foot care, fungal nails, treating ingrown nails and nail surgery. She has a holistic treatment approach incorporating evidence-based practice; extending to life style modifications and orthotic therapy.

Linda Severino is an experienced Registered, Child & Family Health Nurse, Nurse Immuniser & AGPAL Co-surveyor. Linda graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing at The University of Western Sydney in 1992. To complement her skills, she later completed another Degree in Health majoring in Management, Health promotion and Education. Linda has extensive Clinical and Managerial experience within the hospital and community health settings, by leading both clinical and non-clinical personnel, and has been a Mentor to many students over the past 20 years. Linda is a qualified Child and Family Health Nurse and Nurse Immuniser. In 2016 Linda was appointed a AGPAL Co-surveyor enabling her to review and accredit other General Practice facilities to ensure optimum service delivery to all patients across Australia. Linda has extensive experience with babies and prides herself on assisting and educating mothers with their newborns. Troy has studied at both The University of New South Wales and The University of Sydney. Over the past 20 years he has held Senior roles in clinical and business positions in both Primary and Secondary Eyecare settings. He has led teams and developed strategies to successfully launch new Ophthalmic procedures and products to benefit patient welfare and accelerate business performance.
After managing The Sydney Eye Centre – a combined Ophthalmic Day Surgery and Eye Centre for Primary Health Care Ltd, he established Primary Eye Care in 2002, the first company in Australia to incorporate 4 levels of eyecare (Ophthalmology, Orthoptic’s, Optometry and Optical Dispensing) and grew this to 3 practices across Sydney in 7 years. He sold his interest in 2009 and embarked on a corporate career with Alcon Laboratories Ltd – a Global Eyecare leader in Ophthalmic Devices/Pharmaceuticals and was responsible for developing strategic Ophthalmic partnerships with National and International Corporate Groups.

Tanja has worked with The Madison Medical Practice Team since 2008.
