The Madison Medical Practices, Hornsby, St Ives and Berowra for the past several months have been rolling out the governments strategy of the COVID-19 Vaccination Program of the Astra Zeneca Vaccine. Please note that 2 Doses are required and given 12 weeks apart, however due to the recent Greater Sydney Outbreak it has been advised by Public Health to receive the 2nd Dose earlier. For more information regarding earlier vaccinations, please make and appointment with your GP as to when it would be medical advised to have your 2nd Dose. Pfizer Vaccine UPDATE
The NSW Health Department has just announced that The Madison Medical Practice St Ives will receive its Pfizer allocation in late September 2021. We are now encouraging all Existing Patients of St Ives to call and make an appointment on our Vaccine clinic days (Wednesday & Thursday). Effective from the 1st September 2021 Pfizer vaccines will be eligible for ages between 16-59yrs, and then from the 13th of September 2021 will incorporate ages from 12-15 yrs into the program. Those patients over 60 years who wish to have Pfizer, need to have concern medical conditions to grant them Pfizer access, and will need to discuss this with your GP. PLEASE ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT IF YOU HAVE HAVE BEEN SCHEDULE OR HAVE HAD YOUR FIRST PFIZER DOSE AT ANOTHER PRACTICE/HUB – PLEASE NOTE WE WILL NOT BE ADMINISTERING SECOND DOSE PFIZER AT OUR PRACTICE – YOU MUST RETURN TO THE SAME FACILITY YOU HAD YOUR FIRST PFIZER DOSE.
We have now started our ONLINE BOOKINGS for both 1st Dose Pfizer and 1st Dose Astra Zeneca for our EXISTING PATIENTS ONLY, we encourage our patients to book via our website or via Healthengine. Naturally our Existing Patients may have immediate family members who do not attend the practice, and may require 1st Doses, please call our friendly staff on 9440-9411 to seek guidance on the best way to book in. Please note that the practice will co-ordinate the 2nd dose dates to ensure we are administering at the correct time allocations, to maintain adequate supply. Please note we are not administering any 2nd Dose Pfizer, please return back to the facility that gave your 1st dose.
ON THE DAY
It is important that for the 1st dose that you arrive 15 mins prior to your scheduled time to go through a pre survey questionnaire, and if you have any flu like symptoms, please call the reception team to reschedule your appointment for another day.
Astra Zeneca 2nd doses will be administered between 4 and 12 weeks later and the nursing team will book you in for this after the 1st dose.
Pfizer 2nd doses will be administered 3 weeks later and the nursing team will book you in for this after the 1st dose.
WHEN CAN I HAVE THE FLU VACCINE?
Flu Vaccine and many other vaccines can be administered as early as 7 days after the COVID-19 Vaccines please speak to your GP for more information.
