Dr Gus Channo is the Medical Principal of The Madison Medical Practice St Ives, and prides himself on leading like-minded individuals in caring for the St Ives Communities. Gus has been a Doctor for over 17 years and a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners since 2010. Gus is passionate about Patient care, and prides himself on attention to detail and thoroughness. His vast experience in both rural and city communities have given him a greater understanding of people which enhances patient engagement.
Gus has worked in several leading hospitals including the Royal Adelaide and St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney over his career and enjoys teaching the next generation of General Practitioners as a GP Synergy Supervisor. Gus has special interests in Peadatrics, Men’s health, Preventative Medicine and has experience in Aged Care management. Gus is fluent in English and Arabic.
The Madison Medical Practice St Ives welcomes Dr Chitra Das as a consultant GP. Chitra is an experienced Medical Practitioner (GP) who graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and received her fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2017.
Chitra’s special interests include Paediatrics and Skin Cancers. She has attained a Diploma in Paediatrics and Adolescent health from Sydney Westmead hospital, and obtained Advanced surgical training in Skin Cancer Surgery from Health Cert under Bond University Queensland.
Apart from advanced training in Skin Cancer diagnosis and treatment, and Paediatrics, Chitra has interests in Women’s Health, and Geriatric Management of chronic disease. Chitra performs minor operations such as Ingrown toe nail surgery, Suturing, removal of foreign bodies, Contraceptive IUDs – Implanon insertion and removal, Mirena removal only.
Chitra is excited about joining the Madison Medical Team as she believes in continuity of patient care, and provides preventive care with education to her patients, an ethos we both share.
She is a mother of two beautiful young girls. And enjoys playing piano.

Gagan is a female General Practitioner who graduated from the Government Medical College in Amritsar, India in 1992. After migrating to Australia in 1996 she continued her studies and trained at Prince of Wales Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital and Rozelle Hospitals for many years to expose herself to many areas of patient care to enhance her medical experience. Gagan commenced her General Practice Specialty training at the University of Western Sydney as a part of the “Wentwest” program in 2005. After completing her rural term in Oberon she joined the team at The Madison Medical Practice in 2006 and has been a devoted to the St Ives community ever since. Gagan’s empathetic and extensive experience has seen patients come from all over Sydney, a testament of her commitment to practice holistic medicine. Gagan has a special interest in Women’s and Children’s health, as well as Family Health, Geriatrics and Mental Health. Gagan is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi. Her aim as a General Practitioner is to practice medicine where she can provide quality care to all her patients and be available for them when in need.
Dr L Channo has been a Doctor for over 17 years. She worked as in intern at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and trained for 5 years at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as a Senior Resident Medical Officer in areas of Cardiology, Haematology, General Medicine and Paediatrics while also conducting research for the Woolcock Institute in Respiratory Medicine in areas of allergy and asthma.
She joined General Practice training through the rural pathway in Orange where she took special skills training in Paediatrics at Orange Base Hospital which she thoroughly enjoyed. She completed her General Practice training in 2010 and obtained her fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
She relocated to Sydney with her family in 2012 where she has been practicing in the North Shore area since.
She also holds a certificate of sexual health and family planning.
Dr. Channo is very caring and thorough in her approach and has a special interest in Paediatrics, Women’s health, Mental health, General Medicine and Preventative Health.
She also performs minor procedures only Implanon insertion and removal.
Lina is a GP clinical supervisor for Sydney University Medical Students.
The Madison Medical Practice St Ives is delighted that Kalppana is consulting and caring for the St Ives Community. Kalppana received her MBBS from the University of Queensland in 2010 after completing a Bachelor of Medical Science from the University of Sydney. She went on to complete further hospital training across NSW including Westmead Hospital and Coffs Harbour Hospital before entering into General Practice.
Kalppana attained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General practitioners in 2016. She has completed a Diploma in Child Health through Westmead Children’s Hospital.
She enjoys the wide range of challenges a day in General Practice brings and enjoys treating patients of all ages and genders. She has a special interest in Women’s health and paediatrics.
Kalppana has a strong focus on preventative medicine and above all, values the long term relationships she develops with her patients and their families to ensure the best health outcomes. Outside of medicine, she enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her two sons.

We are delighted to announce that Dr Kawisha Arander has returned to The Madison Medical Practice St Ives, now as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College or General Practitioners. Kawisha is keen to continue where she left off a year ago with her St Ives patients. She graduated from her Medical Degree at UNSW in 2016 with distinction and completed her Internship and Residency at Nepean Hospital. She is passionate about preventative health care and strives in providing quality holistic care to her patients and their families. Apart from completing her GP training she has also completed the Sydney Child Health Program and has a special interest in Paediatrics. Kawisha has also completed a Master of Public Health at UNSW specialising in Primary Care, graduating with an Award of excellence. Outside of work she enjoys practicing traditional Bharatanatyam dancing and is fluent in English and Sinhalese.

Hannah is interested in all areas of General practice with special interest in Women’s health including Implanon and IUD insertion, antenatal care being a shared care GP with RNSH, Hornsby, RPAH and Westmead hospital. She also has special interest in musculoskeletal health, Paediatric health, dermatology including surgical skin lesion removals, and preventative medicine.
Hannah is fluent in Korean and has four young children who she adores and enjoys outdoors and music with her family. She has grown up in the St Ives area since primary school and excited is to be able to serve the growing community. The Madison Medical Practice welcomes Dr Sanjev Krishnamohan to the St Ives team. Dr Sanjev completed his Medical Degree at University of Sydney and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 2012. Subsequently he worked at Concord & Canterbury Hospitals before specialising in Family Medicine & General Practice and is a Fellow of the Royal College of GPs. Sanjev has a particularly interest in Paediatrics, Diabetes, Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, Mental health, Dermatology & Skin cancer checks. In addition to his hospital experience, Sanjev possesses many years’ experience in private practice, home and nursing home visits. He has assisted with teaching at the Sydney University Medical School and his research has been published in medical conferences & peer reviewed journals. The Madison Medical Practice St Ives welcomes Dr Farah Abadi to our busy Practice as an Extended Skills GP Registrar. Farah is in her final placement of her GP program before becoming a Fellow of the College. She graduated in 2017 with MD and BMedSt from Queensland, and completed her internship and residency in Gosford and Wyong Hospital. She is passionate about delivering preventative and wholistic healthcare to her patients. She enjoys all aspects of medical practice but her special interests are in Preventive Health, Women’s health, Pediatrics and Chronic Disease management. She has also completed the Diploma in Child Health in 2019 through Westmead Children’s Hospital. During her GP training years she trained in Tamworth, Kellyville and St Ives. She lives locally and is familiar with the demographic and is looking forward in caring for the communities medical needs. The Madison Medical Practice St Ives welcomes Dr Nathalie “Nat” Vo our GP Registrar to our team. Nat graduated from the University of Western Sydney, which included a year of training in Lismore as a medical student. She then completed her internship, residency and senior residency at Concord Hospital, Canterbury Hospital, and Broken Hill Hospital. During her time as a GP Registrar so far, Nat has trained in Northmead, Riverstone, the lower Blue Mountains, Richmond, Penrith and Epping.
Nat has a wide range of clinical interests, and especially enjoys caring for the needs of children or adolescents, older people, those with chronic health conditions, and those with mental health concerns. She is passionate in providing preventative health advice and treating all her patients in a holistic manner. At the core of Nat’s approach to clinical medicine, she seeks to abide by Hippocrates’ advice: “To cure sometimes, to relieve often, and to comfort always.”
When Nat is not at work, she is just as keen about trying new things and participating in out of the ordinary experiences, as she is about kicking back and watching the world drift by with a good cuppa tea.
