Dr Gus Channo is the Medical Principal of The Madison Medical Practice St Ives, and prides himself on leading like-minded individuals in caring for the St Ives Community. Gus has been a doctor for over 24 years and a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners since 2010. Gus is passionate about patient care, and prides himself on attention to detail and thoroughness. His vast experience in both rural and city communities have given him a greater understanding of people which enhances patient engagement.
Gus has worked in several leading hospitals including the Royal Adelaide and St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney over his career, and enjoys teaching the next generation of General Practitioners as a GP Synergy Supervisor. Dr Chitra Das is an experienced Medical Practitioner (GP) who graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and received her fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2017.
She has attained a Diploma in Paediatrics and Adolescent Health from Sydney Westmead hospital, completed advanced surgical training in Skin Cancer Surgery from Bond University Queensland, and attained a Primary Certificate of Menopause and Women’s Health.
Dr Das has special interests in women’s health, paediatrics, skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, and geriatric management of chronic disease. Additionally, she performs minor operations such as ingrown toe nail surgery, suturing, removal of foreign bodies and contraceptive IUDs: Implanon insertion and removal, Mirena removal only.
Dr Das strongly believes in continuity of patient care, and provides preventive care with education to her patients, an ethos we both share.
She is a mother of two beautiful young girls and in her spare time, enjoys playing piano.

Dr Lina Channo has over 20 years of experience in the medical field. She completed her internship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and residency at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Before starting her general practice training, she worked at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, working in the areas of nasal, sinus, allergy and asthma research. As part of her training, Lina worked in general practice in Orange and at Orange Base Hospital as a paediatric registrar for her special skills training. In 2010, Lina obtained her fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Whilst Lina enjoys the diversity of general practice, her special interests are paediatrics, family planning and women’s health. She is qualified in Implanon insertion and removal and Mirena removal. She is particularly passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to menopause, an area of women’s health where she offers a comprehensive approach to management by understanding, and empathising with the challenges that women go through. Her other areas of interest are mental health, preventive health, lifestyle medicine and weight loss management.

Dr Kawisha Arander is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Kawisha completed her medical degree at UNSW in 2016 with a distinction and completed her internship and residency at Nepean Hospital. She is passionate about preventative health care and strives to provide quality, holistic care to her patients and their families. Dr Kawisha Arander has also completed a Master of Public Health, specialising in Primary Care with distinction at UNSW. She has a special interest in paediatrics and has completed the Sydney Child Health Program. She also provides shared antenatal care to pregnant women booked at Hornsby and Royal North Shore Hospital. She is fluent in English and Sinhalese.
Outside of work, Kawisha enjoys exploring the great outdoors and discovering hidden hiking trails around Sydney. She loves to immerse herself in diverse cultural experiences around the world through dance, good food and travel.

Dr Sanjev Krishnamohan graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Sydney in 2012 and was trained at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Followed by his work at Concord and Canterbury Hospitals. Afterwards, he pursued specialisation in Family Medicine and General Practice and obtained his fellowship of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).
Dr Krishnamohan is an experienced doctor in St Ives who takes a keen interest in Family Medicine, Geriatrics, Mental Health, Paediatrics, Diabetes, Cardiovascular and Respiratory Medicine. He is also passionate about Dermatology as well as Skin Cancer Checks. He has not only gained hospital experience but has also worked for several years in private practice, home and nursing home visits.
Sanjev also takes a special interest in medical teaching and provided his services at the Sydney University Medical School. He is a researcher as well and his research has been published in both medical conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
Apart from practising, Dr Krishnamohan enjoys spending quality time with his young family and loves to do everything outdoors like playing tennis and going for a jog.

Dr XP Cheah completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2014, and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2023. Prior to general practice, he completed his initial hospital training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Dr XP has also worked in several emergency departments as a senior resident, such as Manly and Mona Vale Hospitals. Dr XP has extensive experience working in corporate medical assistance, coordinating aeromedical evacuations and providing travel medical advice.
XP enjoys all aspects of general practice, having worked at various practices across Sydney, however has a particular interest in men’s health, preventative health and minor procedures. XP lives locally in the Upper North Shore and outside of work, enjoys travelling, skiing, long distance running, and spending time with his wife and golden retriever.

Joel is a dedicated doctor who strives to provide the best possible medical care for his patients. As a medical graduate from the University of Sydney and a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners, Joel is a strong believer that prevention is better than cure. He has experience in both acute care and chronic care patients and tries to stay up to date with the most recent medical literature.
When Joel is not attending to patients, he enjoys playing tennis, swimming and theatre.

Dr Babu is an experienced general practitioner; originally from India, he moved to Australia in 1970. Dr Babu worked initially at Manly Hospital before taking on an academic position at UNSW. In 1975, he left the position to begin general practice and settled down in St Ives to begin his own private clinic. Dr Babu has been practicing as a GP since then, providing healthcare for a large number of the St Ives Community. He has undoubtedly been an integral part of the community since 1975, and The Madison Medical Practice is excited to assist him in continuing to provide quality healthcare for his patients.
Dr Babu’s consulting days are: Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 8am – 1pm.

Dr Farah Abadi graduated in 2017 with MD and BMedSt from Queensland and completed her internship and residency in Gosford and Wyong Hospital. She is passionate about delivering preventative and holistic healthcare to her patients. She enjoys all aspects of medical practice but her special interests are in preventive health, women’s health, paediatrics and chronic disease management.
Dr Abadi has also completed a Diploma in Child Health in 2019 through Westmead Children’s Hospital. During her GP training years she trained in Tamworth, Kellyville and St Ives. She lives locally and is familiar with the demographic and enjoys caring for the community’s medical needs.

Dr Nanra graduated from Newcastle University in 1988 and subsequently completed a 3 year residency at Royal North Shore Hospital. In 1992 Dr Nanra worked at Camperdown Children’s Hospital (now known as Westmead Children’s Hospital) and completed a Diploma in Child Health through Sydney University.
Dr Nanra has worked in General Practice since 1993, initially working in Kairong and for the last 20 years, in the upper North Shore. She is experienced in all aspects of general practice and in particular has wide experience in the management of mental health, women’s health, paediatrics and complex chronic health management.
Over the years, she has learnt that good listening, collaboration, proactivity and a holistic approach are the hallmarks of successful medical care.In her downtime, Dr Nanra enjoys walking, cooking, DIY projects and spending time with her family.

Gagan is a female general practitioner who graduated from the Government Medical College in Amritsar, India in 1992. After migrating to Australia in 1996, she continued her studies and trained at Prince of Wales Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital and Rozelle Hospitals for many years to expose herself to multiple areas of patient care to enhance her medical experience. Gagan commenced her General Practice Specialty Training at the University of Western Sydney as a part of the “Wentwest” program in 2005. After completing her rural term in Oberon, she joined the team at The Madison Medical Practice in 2006 and has been a devoted GP to the St Ives community ever since. Gagan’s empathetic and extensive experience has seen patients come from all over Sydney; a testament of her commitment to practice holistic medicine. Gagan has special interests in women’s and children’s health, as well as family health, geriatrics and mental health. Gagan is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi. Her aim as a general practitioner is to practice medicine in such a way that allows her to provide quality care to all her patients and be available for them when in need.

The Madison Medical Practice St Ives welcomes Dr Nicky Kathuria, a GPT 3 Registrar to our team. Dr Nicky is in her final placement as a registrar before becoming a Fellow of RACGP and will be working from the 5th August 2024 to assist our busy consulting doctors and staff to care of the St Ives community.
Dr Nicky graduated from Bond University with a Doctor of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Queensland Children’s Hospital, where she has gained experience across a range of specialities.
Dr Nicky enjoys the broad spectrum of general practice and the opportunity to provide holistic care to her patients. She approaches her consultations with empathy, open communication, and respect.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, finding new places to eat, reading and travelling to explore new cultures.
